Your macro-gardening equipment hire shopping list

As Spring arrives, we can’t help but start to think of barbecues, sun drenched decking, maybe the kids entertained for hours in a paddling pool whilst you sit with a cold beer in the shade. However, when you look out at the garden, you realise there’s a long way to go to get the sparse lawn in shape, prepare the ground for the new patio and get rid of those trees that block out all the light. The good news is, macro-gardening equipment hire could save you money.

You don’t have to get in expensive landscape gardeners. If you have the inclination, you can hire the tools and equipment yourself, saving money to splash out on that coveted hot tub.

Here are some of the most useful pieces of equipment that macro-gardeners and landscape gardeners hire from us every year to help them turn their dreams into reality.

1. Air breakers
Time to get rid of that path? Hiring an air breaker will make light work of breaking up any tarmac, concrete, or hardened sub layers. Our air breakers are pneumatic and come with an impact rate of 1380 blows per minute. You can also hire an air compressor for your air breaker.

2. Excavators
Then, to remove rubble from any foundations or to reduce excess top soil, hiring an excavator will save you time and a lot of effort. Something like our 1.5 ton mini excavator would be perfect for garden landscaping as it’s only .993m wide so it’s easy to squeeze through gateways or to use in tight spaces, and has rubber tracks to reduce damage to pavements.

3. Concrete mixers
When it’s time to build that retaining wall, a a concrete mixer will make for a more thorough compound mix, and will be faster and easier than mixing concrete by hand. It’s continual rotation also means that the concrete won’t set as quickly.

If you didn’t want to go for a full size concrete mixer, you could opt for a much smaller mixing drill and paddle.

4. Trak mats
Lay trak mats to protect the lawn or any pre-prepared ground that you need to take vehicles or excavators over. .

Saws
When it comes to prepping the decking boards, sawing and cutting time can literally be cut right down by hiring our circular saws, or our crosscut and mitre saws..

5. Pressure washers
Once you’re done, for a completely summer-ready finish, give the area a once over with a pressure washer to get rid of remaining dust, dirt and sawdust.
