Snorkel UK welcomes powered access hire firms to state of the art plant

As a member of the Access Alliance, Mr Plant Hire received a warm welcome to Snorkel’s Vigo Centre on Thursday 15th March.

Snorkel, one of the UK’s leading powered access equipment and parts manufacturers, were hosting the Access Alliance Winter Meeting. In addition to providing conference facilities for the event, Snorkel also treated delegates to a manufacturing facility tour of their Tyne & Wear plant.

During the site visit, delegates from powered access equipment vendors and rentals around the UK
were showcased Snorkel’s lean manufacturing techniques, as well as their industry-leading dual-coat powder paint facility.

Tony Crawford, Director here at Mr Plant Hire and Access Alliance Chairman and Director, has said “all members found the manufacturing facility tour of great interest, and it was fantastic to see such a quality product being built right here in the UK”.

The Access Alliance is a collaboration of some of the UK and Ireland’s strongest, independently owned, regional powered access equipment sales and rental companies.

Established to create consistency of service in an unregulated marketplace, the Access Alliance currently has more than 56 members signed up to their code of conduct. The code strives to push up safety and quality standards across the powered access industry.

The Winter Meeting took place at Snorkel’s UK manufacturing facility, Vigo Centre, in Washington, Tyne & Wear.

Andrew Fishburn, Managing Director of Snorkel UK, said, “We are very grateful for the opportunity to host the Access Alliance Winter Meeting, and for the time they afforded us for the facility tour and dinner”.
