Location: Hertford Road/ Morson Road/ Stacey Avenue
Reporting to: Divisional Manager
Responsible for (direct reports): Transport Co-ordinator, Administrators and Hire Desk personnel.
Deputises for Divisional Manager.
Job Purpose:
The Assistant Manager manages the activity within the Depot / branch ensuring customers needs are met, the operation is run safely and manages the Hire desk and administration team. The Assistant Manager deputises for the divisional manager.
Key skills & Duties:
- Liaises with the transport co-ordinator to ensure all transport routes and timings are planned effectively
- Ensure the transport co-ordinator liaises with the Drivers to ensure customers requirements are fulfilled
- Escalates any issues with delivery or collection to the transport co-ordinator.
- Oversees the hire desk to ensure good levels of customer service and pro-active management of requests
- Ensure every opportunity for hire is taken
- Act as point of escalation for customer issues
- Team management and development
- Ensure staff are trained to meet requirements for role
- Allocates workload to administrators
Qualifications & Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar role or industry
- Good administration skills
- Knowledge of product
- Team management
